I go by Umbanana on the Subtle Cantonese Learning Discord, but people have been kindly calling me Teacher. I have been teaching anonymously Cantonese to fellow youths and young adults on the Subtle Cantonese Traits Discord Server ever since pandemic began last spring when my in-person students were paused due to social distancing. I meant to do it for fun to pass time, but instead, I found a lot of overseas kids just like me who wanted to learn Chinese and connect with their families and grandparents. One thing lead to another and I created Subtle Cantonese University over the summer to host reading, writing and conversational Cantonese/Chinese to help as many people as possible.
I currently offer private online Cantonese lessons for children (ages 4+) and adults. Small private adult group lessons are also available for beginner and intermediate levels. All classes are uniquely designed to match your learning style and continue to generate enthusiasm for learning Chinese!
